Current University of Notre Dame undergraduates:
Would you like to enter your next year feeling more aware of your purpose and more aligned with your values? Do you want to take active steps towards accepting and loving your entire self? Do you like art, even though you’re “not very good” at it?
Consider joining the University of Notre Dame summer cohort exploring Social Justice with ArtForce Iowa! As a summer intern, you will participate in online small group workshops with fellow interns as well as online experiences you select that unite your values and your lived experience.
Goals for Social Justice Interns:
THIS SUMMER
Research authentic methods for self-care and report on results
Explore an avenue of social justice through art. (all process work, no pressure to exhibit)
Define your personal purpose (as your life is now) and articulate future avenues for growth, exploration and adventure
Learn to cultivate and maintain important relationships
Goals for Social Justice Interns: LIFELONG
Seek opportunities to learn about and evolve your values, your social/emotional skills and your self-regulation skills
Use authentic methods to build trust
Strive for empathy and recognize when your biases appear
Embrace life as a healing journey
We are most interested in students who plan to disrupt oppressive systems, as well as champion or design just, equitable, diverse, intersectional/inclusive systems and policies.
The 2021 Social Justice Internship will be a virtual experience (Zoom and phone) to decrease potential exposure to COVID-19.
Dates: June 3 - July 15, 2021
Cohort meets Monday and Thursday 12-3PM CST.
Additional Training to be held June 11 and 18 from 10AM CST to 2PM CST
