Murals

DEs Moines art festival mural

This was an interactive mural that consisted over 1400 tiles. Each tile being interpreted and transferred by the community.

“Together We Flourish” created by our amazing Emma Parker! In collaboration with the Latinos in Action Classes at East High and Roosevelt High School, the mural shows flowers representing the heritage and ethnicity at the aforementioned schools, along with the youth-centered values reflecting hope, unity, inclusivity, and place. The Murals will be permanently installed at East High School and Roosevelt High School.

Honorable Judge Witt Bike Trail

The Honorable Judge Colin Witt was one of our greatest advocates and supporters. Even in his last few months, he was working diligently to connect us to curate the artwork for Polk County Justice Center. His last written words to us were: “I love ArtForce and want you all to be supported and thrive in your efforts work with our kids.”

“Colin believed that our commitment to justice, the character of our society, the rule of law, and fairness and equality is how we treat the poor, the lost, the broken, the accused and the incarcerated. He believed that each of us is more than the worst thing we’ve ever done. Colin had the ability to hold power and tenderness in the same breath; always seeking to see the other and lead with love, understanding, mercy, and justice. He believed in the power of community and that together we are each other’s harvest. He will be remembered for his kindness, generous spirit and fairness.”

DSM Collective Bike Stations
In the month of May, ArtForce Iowa partnered with DSM Street Collective to paint a bike station!

Join us as we follow Emma, December (@december_paw_arts), and Jackson (@itsjacksonmeister) as they tell us more about the project and the process of putting art on to these bike stations.
